Courses
Our sixth form offers a wide selection of subject choices to suit every student’s needs and aspirations.
All students in Year 12 are expected to study 4 different elements. These might be 4 different subjects, 3 subjects and Core Maths or 3 different subjects with a directed study element.
In addition we offer vocational courses in business, criminology, engineering, food, health and social care, IT, science and sport which have a different assessment pattern to traditional A Levels, with greater emphasis on coursework and different learning styles.
Each subject has a dedicated 10 hours of taught content per fortnight with most fourth elements taking a further 5 hours. Between lessons all students are expected to study independently and this can take place in our dedicated sixth form campus.
The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is offered as a weekly enrichment with additional teaching hours, where students can study 4 subjects plus an EPQ, should they wish.
Entry Requirements
Students wishing to join our sixth form will need to meet our minimum entry requirements of 5 GCSEs at grade 5 or above including a minimum of grade 5 in Maths and English. In addition, most of our courses require higher entry grades and this information can be found on each course page.
