We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative Subject Leader of Physics to join our growing, dynamic and supportive school. We are looking for someone who is committed to securing high standards and raising academic attainment. Here at Horsforth School, we aim to create opportunities and support achievement for our students and colleagues alike.
Join us and you will be part of a fantastic science department with a strong team ethos. We believe in working collaboratively, sharing ideas and supporting each other to achieve great things as we develop innovative teaching and learning strategies. Physics is a high performing subject therefore this is an ideal opportunity for an experienced colleague to build on our outstanding results at KS4 and KS5. With our new onsite Sixth Form building containing four brand new science laboratories, one dedicated solely to A level Physics teaching, we are looking to build on and extend our A level provision of two A level physics classes in both years 12 and 13.
For our 1500 students, Horsforth School provides an engaging environment of discovery and growth. For our colleagues too, this setting offers some great benefits. Located in north-west Leeds, the school is just five miles from the city centre with its thriving retail, leisure and cultural facilities, yet on the edge of open countryside. York, Harrogate and the Dales are within easy reach.
GCSE and A Level results are consistently well above the national averages and in 2022 the school had the best A Level results in the whole of Leeds. Horsforth School was also named one of the top schools in Yorkshire in The Sunday Times Parent Power Guide in 2022.
