Senior Science Technician

Senior Science Technician
C1 £21,495 – £23,574
Full Time, All Year Round

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Science Technician to join our experienced and vibrant Science Department. The role involves working under the direction/instruction of the Head of Science to organise and manage the Science department’s technician service across four prep rooms.

This is a very exciting time for the science department as we look to open up four new science laboratories in our new sixth form block and the successful candidate will take on the responsibility for the smooth running of the Science Department’s prep room facilities, including stock taking and the ordering of materials. In addition, they will be required to carry out tasks including the preparation of resources, stock taking and ordering, maintaining and repairing equipment and supporting staff and students on the safe use of relevant materials and equipment.

This is an extremely busy position and the successful candidate must be hardworking, energetic and reliable and have the ability to deal with issues using their own initiative as they arise whilst also working as part of a team.

The Science department’s success is reflected throughout this ambitious and consistently oversubscribed 11-19 school, which enjoys strong community and international links. Our commitment to excellence in education is recognised nationally. Ofsted describe us as a ‘good school with outstanding features’.

For our 1400 students, Horsforth School provides an engaging environment of discovery and growth. For our colleagues too, this setting offers some great benefits.
