Every year we pack our Year 10 student’s off for the week and send them into the world of work.
This week we’ve partnered with Changing Education to give our Year 10 students the opportunity to take part in some Virtual Work Experience. The three days offered different activities and real-life scenarios, to broaden their knowledge and support them going forward with their careers.
The days have been jam-packed with inspirational speakers from Barclaycard, ESPN and Smartebusiness, amongst others. Our students heard from BBC Apprentice Finalist, Adam Corbally, who shared his top ten tips when attending an interview and from Matt Bird, Founder of The Shirt Society, who explained his Do’s and Don’ts when it comes to interview attire.
Each student set up a LinkedIn profile, completed a dream job and budgeting exercise, completed a CV on the ConnectED App and took part in team building exercises. Then each day ended with a mindfulness session – much needed after absorbing all the key information from the day.
Alongside a busy timetable of activities, every student has completed – The Project Brief. An opportunity to incorporate and showcase what they learnt during the week – they even got to share their projects with real organisations like Macmillian Cancer Support.
A busy and productive week for our Year 10s, we hope you enjoyed it!
