Criminology – Forensic Science Workshop
This practical and interactive day starts off with a 999 call directly from the scene of an alleged murder and students then are fed information, evidence, intelligence and forensic science results and have to commit to a series of decisions and actions that take them through an intensive investigation. Our experienced team of investigators, all with real life experience of murder investigation, many with complimentary legal, criminology or investigative degrees, help the students apply theory into practice through a range of practical exercises to steer them towards an inevitable mock crown court trial. We explain the law, judicial system and courtroom process before the students run their own trial during which their own murder investigation is presented. Each and every student gets a role and this hotly contested debate sees them have to defend their investigation, decisions and thought processes before the jury considers the evidence and decides whether the suspect is guilty or not!
