Initially I was elected as a Parent Governor and subsequent to my daughters all moving on to further education I have been a Community Governor. For several years I’ve been the Chair of the Pastoral Committee which, amongst other things, is responsible for making sure that the school has appropriate and recognised rewards and sanctions processes, applies them in a consistent manner and monitors their effectiveness.
During my time as a Governor the School has experienced a lot of changes and significant challenges, most recently the conversion to Academy status, and as Governors we have had to, and will continue to, make difficult operational and strategic decisions which impact not only the staff and students, but also parents and carers and the community of Horsforth itself. My day job is working as a financial analyst for BT Openreach and in my spare time I run with Horsforth Harriers and enjoy quizzes and travelling.
