We like our students to be armed with lots of different information about life after our sixth form so they can make informed choices.
On Monday 16th October, Elaine Waugh from Leeds Apprenticeship Hub spoke to both our Year 12 and 13 students about the range of apprenticeships available, from Level 2 right through to degree and master’s level (Level 6 & 7).
Elaine discussed salary expectations, the range of sectors recruiting apprenticeships and where to search for opportunities. She even explained that many organisations (for example the NHS) don’t publish their vacancies on the key websites, such as the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education, instead preferring students to do their own research based on who they want to work for.
So, with this key snippet of information in mind, we hope our students thinking of applying for an apprenticeship, take this message home and look at company websites for those lucrative opportunities!
