The Frank Hester Scholarship

At Horsforth School we offer a university scholarship ‘The Frank Hester Scholarship’ with The Phoenix Partnership (TPP) who will grant the successful candidates an award of £3,333 per academic year to assist with maintenance costs through their time at university. The Phoenix Partnership (TPP) are a UK based IT company, dedicated to delivering world class healthcare software through a number of innovative products. Their philosophy is to join up healthcare based on a shared electronic medical record, improving access to clinical data and empowering patients to have active involvement in their care. We currently have over 40 million patient records across over 5,000 NHS organisations. This includes more than 2,500 GP practices and all 142 prisons.

The Frank Hester Scholarship was founded by the current CEO Frank Hester who was mindful of the issue of under representation of candidates from disadvantaged backgrounds in higher education and the objective of the scholarship is to encourage more young people from these backgrounds to pursue such education. TPP is a company that is proud of its local roots. Situated in Horsforth, TPP is fully aware of the positive impact a successful business can make within a community. As a result, they regularly make contributions to charitable and environmental causes and actively promote ethical and social responsibility
