Premier Farnell Technology Challenge

Horsforth School students will participate in the forthcoming Premier Farnell Technology Challenge, a Yorkshire-wide electronics and computer engineering competition aimed to encourage future graduates towards career opportunities in tech and digital industries.

The challenge is organised by Leeds Beckett University and Premier Farnell – a leading global electronics distributor whose UK head office is located in Armley, Leeds – in association with Ahead Partnership and the Future Jobs Program.

Our students will be tasked with working in teams of five to build a working prototype for a piece of ‘assistive technology’ to address challenges faced by people living with significant physical or sensory impairments. They will attend workshops and feedback sessions hosted by Leeds Beckett University. The best designs will progress to a regional final due to take place in early December, where prizes will be awarded by a panel of expert judges.

This project is being supervised by Robert Emmett, our Curriculum Leader for Computing and ICT.
