Peter Boden - Parent Governor

I was brought up in the garden village of Bournville in Birmingham, a stone’s throw from the Cadbury’s factory, with the constant smell of chocolate in the air.   I moved to Leeds for study in 1981 and have lived here ever since, the last 25 years in Horsforth.

I’m married to Libby and have three daughters.  Phoebe and Grace are still working their way through Horsforth School; Ellie completed her A Levels in 2013.

I run a business that specialises in forecasting population change and its effect upon housing, education and other public services.

As a coach, I’ve enjoyed helping the development of girls’ football in Horsforth over the last 10 years, focusing now on the youngest players, aged 6-9.

I was formerly Chair of Governor at Horsforth Newlaithes.  As a Governing Body we oversaw major financial and structural changes to the school, including the appointment of the current Head and Deputy Head teacher, plus the difficult transition from Junior to Primary School to accommodate increased pupil numbers.

The responsibility of a Governor is to provide full support to the School’s leadership team, teachers and other staff to enable them to do their jobs most effectively.  I am enjoying the opportunity of providing some time and energy to support the continued development of Horsforth School, one of the best schools in Yorkshire.
