Horsforth Cenotaph Lights Are Switched On

Our Year 11 student Ethan was delighted to attend the switch on of the lighting at Horsforth Cenotaph on Monday evening.  The event was a fantastic celebration of Ethan’s hard work where he raised over £1000 in a recent sponsored swim to help pay for the ongoing electricity costs for the lighting – he was even interviews for local television! Ethan said “I'm pleased to say that my swim raised this fantastic amount of money, so I want to thank all who so generously donated, my family, teachers and friends for supporting me and the Grammar School for generously waiving the pool hire cost.”

The lighting switch on was attended by around 100 people and was the culmination of years of fundraising led by the Royal British Legion Horsforth and the Horsforth WWI 100 years project. Horsforth School students raised £2300 for the project.

Well done to all involved.
